Op 10 April 2010 zal Wafelhuis als eerste stroopwafel specialist in Japan haar deuren openen in Kobe om 11 uur. Wafelhuis is gevestigd ten noord-oosten van het Hankyu Rokko station, op 1 minuut afstand van het station. De Consul Generaal van Nederland in Kansai, Mevr. Margriet Bot, zal de officiele opening van de zaak verrichten.

Wafelhuis produceert originele stroopwafels, volgens een authentiek Nederlands recept, met locale Japanse ingredienten. Het deeg en de stroop worden op locatie geproduceerd en elke wafel wordt één voor één handgebakken. De stroopwafels worden versgebakken verkocht of in pakjes van 8 stroopwafels. Verder wordt er verse koffie en thee worden geserveerd.

Opening of the first stroopwafel shop in Japan
On April 10th 2010, Wafelhuis will open its doors as the first stroopwafel specialist shop in Japan. The official opening will be performed by the Consul General of the Netherlands, Margriet Bot at 11 am.
Wafelhuis is the first and only shop in Japan making stroopwafels according to an original Dutch recipe, using local Japanese ingredients. The dough and caramel are produced on the premises and each waffle is baked one by one. Fresh coffee and tea are served with the stroopwafels.
